Basic Guard Dog Training
In Basic Guard Dog Training, the dog is taught to attack on command, specifically targeting the forearms, and let go of the target when given the “Out” command. The dog also learns to guard properties such as houses, farmhouses, estates, or bungalows.
While patrolling its territory, the dog will alert intruders by barking and may intervene without a command if it perceives a threat. This training ensures the dog is disciplined, responsive, and capable of protecting its assigned area effectively.
Prerequisite: The dog must have completed an obedience program, such as Home Manners Obedience or Advanced Obedience, before beginning guard dog training.
Duration: 2 months

Advanced Guard Dog Training
In Advanced Guard Dog Training, the dog is trained to guard its territory — houses, farmhouses, estates, gardens, bungalows, and similar properties. The dog will bite on command, targeting the bicep, forearm, front leg, or back calf muscle, and will release cleanly when given the “Out” command. If the dog cannot reach the primary targets (bicep or forearm), it will go for the secondary target — the leg.
The dog is trained to detect and indicate hidden intruders by holding and barking, and to intervene immediately without a command if the handler is attacked unexpectedly (surprise attack). The Call-Off exercise trains the dog that while running to bite, if the handler calls, the dog will instantly stop, turn, and return to the handler without biting.
This training also includes basic obedience and agility exercises, as well as utility exercises to enhance the dog’s overall working abilities.
Duration: 8–10 months (including basic obedience, agility, and advanced guard dog training).

Disclaimer:
Not all breeds are suitable for guard or bite work training. It depends on each dog’s individual temperament and drive levels. The dog must have a very high prey drive and at least a minimum level of defense drive to perform this type of work effectively.
